Organizational effectiveness through assessment
Kaya Consulting has been involved in the administration and interpretation of assessments for the past decade and has a proven track record in assisting our clients in making this process fair, reliable and cost effective. Our strength lies in our access to registered users of a broad range of internationally validated and accredited assessment tests and tools, many technology enabled. This ensures a single interface for clients requiring individual or large scale, single or varied assessments. Our experience equips us to make recommendations to clients for recruitment purposes, as well as identification of developmental focus areas and succession planning.
We believe in the "head-heart-feet" principle of measurement. This means that we utilise a battery of assessments to evaluate the individual as a whole, and therefore have a more integrated picture of the person. In short, assessing how a person thinks, feels and reacts.
What is usually measured?
- Cognitive capability
- Motivation - energy and drive
- Personality traits / style
- Knowledge, skills and experience
- Aptitudes - capabilities such as ability to solve problems and understand new information
Cognitive Capability Assessments
Cognitive Capability tests measure the extent to which an individual is able to carry out various aspects of a job. A number of tests, each measuring a variety of skills with varying levels of difficulty can be used. These range from assessments measuring verbal and numerical reasoning, technical abilities (spatial insight, mechanical insight and fault diagnosis to name a few) to mental processing. These tests can be applied at all levels of seniority, from directors and senior managers through to administrative and technical staff.
Motivation Assessments
Motivations, values and preferences are a person's key drivers - they are what a person desires and strives to attain. People's values also influence their choice of jobs and careers. This information is invaluable in determining the kinds of environments in which individual's will perform optimally and the kind of culture the person will create as a leader. Organisations can also use this information to ensure that a new hire's values are consistent with those of the organisation.
Personality Assessments
Products are designed to measure how people like to work and their behavioural style, rather than their ability. There are no right or wrong results although some traits may be more or less appropriate to certain job roles. This is probably one of the most common measurement techniques because of the value in assessing team and organisational fit, and because information can be gained about potential areas for development.
